Public praying before a high school softball game?

 high school softball
? Mother ? Time ? asked:

The other night before my daughters softball game, the other team (both public high schools) gathered OUTside their dugout, in a huge circle and literally screamed at the tops of their lungs, the Lords Prayer.

This was done purely for the show of it and I was flabbergasted that this was allowed to happen.

My daughters team prays as well before games….but they do it INside the dugout and quietly, almost as if they don’t want anyone to watch.

I think it was tacky and wrong for the opposing team to do this.

Thoughts please…..Thank you…
cjespo32, I understand what you’re saying. What bothered me the most, was that, as I said…they were screaming it as loud as they could, to draw attention to themselves, make sure everyone that was there, were watching them. None of the girls had their heads bowed, they were looking around to make sure everyone was watching. My question is, if they aren’t taking this seriously, why participate? They only made spectacles of themselves, made themselves look bad.

Oh and my daughters team won btw….:)
They were either praying that they would win, or we would lose LOL

Either way…it was tacky and shouldn’t have happened…..freedom of speech<---whatever.....once it becomes a public display...it doesn't mean diddley....
